Landscape privacy plantings for pool palm beach gardens

One of the goals with this project was to create a privacy planting for the pool for this Palm Beach Gardens home.
Without the larger Areca palms in the backdrop, the view was much different looking into the backyards of several homes at this corner of a backyard lake in this residential neighborhood.
The property was very thin on this side, at the deepest approximately 9′ of space to the pool coping in the photos and varied at approximately 7′ to the patio edge and thinner in some spots.
With the backdrop established, the next challenge was to provide color in this shady spot. With the sun rising and setting primarily behind the privacy, there was not much direct sunlight the plantings below these Areca palms can get, for this property.
Because of that, we went with colors the clients liked and one that offered color in the leaves. This way, the scene wouldn’t need the sunlight to help the flowers bloom, we made sure there would be color to see year round.
This pool landscape was geared to establish privacy for the time in the pool & the backyard, keeping the view to the water open, but slightly filtered view in the back.
Colors to help bring it to life and provide a relaxed feel and we’re glad to say when the landscape was installed around this pool, the clients felt it hit the mark !
The touch of Cap Rock boulders provide another element of interest and that tropical feel by the side of the pool.
The goal of an eye catching, relaxed tropical feel that offers some privacy by the pool, based on the colors the clients liked, and we hope you will too !
