How to hand water my new palm trees? This is one of the most common questions we receive after a new landscape installation. It is a very important question as well. Unfortunately the question can vary depending upon a number of factors.
The factors that can affect how much water a new palm tree may need after installation are based upon the following general factors:
- What time of year in terms of receiving regular rainfall after planting or if there is no natural rain support following installation.
- Soil conditions, particularly well or quick draining soils verses soils or properties that hold too much water or dampness and struggle with drainage.
- The size of the palms or trees being planted, the bigger the more water required immediately following installation verses the smaller the palm or tree, the less water.
